Saints consider lost points appeal

Saints will start life in League One next season on minus 10 after their parent company Southampton Leisure Holdings Plc went into administration earlier this month, but Fry insists the club will fight the penalty. "With regard to the Football League's 10 point deduction, we are currently investigating the available options for appeal, so that route will still be available should any new owners wish to pursue it," said Fry, of Begbies Traynor. Several parties are currently completing due diligence on a potential sale of the parent company's assets, but with nothing guaranteed, Fry is covering all bases. "The administrators are also working on potential contingencies should a buyer not be found," he added. "A major investment of new capital from a committed buyer or consortium remains the most favourable solution for the long-term survival of the club."
