League Two outfit Northampton, who are managed by ex-Saints player and boss Stuart Gray, will travel to St Mary's in early August. "It's a nice fixture and I am happy to be playing Northampton Town," said Wotte. "It's good to be able to welcome back someone with Southampton connections and it will be a good challenge that we can hopefully win. "I am also pleased to have a home tie so early in the season, and I hope we can draw a big crowd to show the players our fantastic support. "We have not done as well as we would have liked in the Carling Cup in recent seasons but this year it would be great to go on a run. Stuart Gray and his team will be taking it seriously too, though, so we will not underestimate them."
