Saganowski leaves Saints

Poland international Marek Saganowski has left Southampton and joined Greek side Atromitos.

The 31-year-old, who was out of contract at the end of the current campaign, moves to Athens on a free transfer until the summer of 2011.

Then Saints boss George Burley brought the forward to St Mary's three years ago, initially on loan, making the move permanent after he had scored ten goals in 13 appearances for the club in the second half of the 2006-07 campaign.

He spent part of last term on loan at AaB Aalborg and in total found the net 19 times in 74 matches for the Saints. His last start for the club came in September 2009 - in a 2-0 victory against Yeovil Town.
