Saganowski heads to Greece

Polish striker Marek Saganowski has left Southampton to join Greek side Atromitos. The 31-year-old, who was due to be out of contract with Saints at the end of this season, moves to the Greek Super League outfit on a free transfer after agreeing a deal until summer 2011. Saganowski signed for Southampton under George Burley back in summer 2007 from French club Troyes, having initially impressed on loan earlier that season with 10 goals in 13 games. The striker was loaned to Danish side Aalborg at the start of the 2008/9 season, returning to St Mary's for the second half of the campaign. This term, however, Saganowski has struggled for playing time, making just three starts and three other substitute appearances in League One. He was an unused substitute Alan Pardew's side for the FA Cup win over Ipswich last weekend.
