Ref woe for Pardew

Southampton boss Alan Pardew blasted the performance of referee Patrick Quinn after seeing his side lose a league game for the first time in 2010. Saints looked on course for a point when Lee Barnard cancelled out Marlon Broomes' early opener, but Ian Thomas-Moore netted a late penalty to condemn Pardew's men to defeat after Dan Seaborne had impeded Gareth Edds. Pardew said: "We did not get the breaks and certainly did not get any help from the referee. The referee had an influence on the game in a negative way for us. "The boys are very disappointed and one or two of them were below their best. "This was a game we wanted to win and we were expected to win, but events went against us, and we also missed some chances. We need to bounce back quickly. "I thought we did enough in the game to get some return, but we were a bit ragged towards the end which is not like us."
