Rasiak deal unlikely for Hornets

The 30-year-old scored 10 goals for the Hornets during a successful loan spell at Vicarage Road and is one of a number of players set to leave the cash-strapped Saints this summer. But despite the former Tottenham man offering to take a 15% wage cut to allow the move to go ahead, Rodgers accepts that a deal is unlikely as Rasiak's salary will still be unaffordable. "I think it is a shame because his contribution has been good for us, but it is likely to be his last big contract so he needs to maximise it for his family and we do not have the finances to compete," he told the Watford Observer. "He loved the club and everything about it, but salary is important for players and we cannot match it so if he can get it elsewhere then fine. "He was willing to take a cut on what he was on, but even with the cut of 15% it still puts him on quite a bit of money."
