Prutton offered way back
22 Nov 2006 - 07:27:21
Southampton midfielder David Prutton has been given renewed hope of forging a future at St Mary's by Saints manager George Burley.
The 25-year-old schemer has not featured at all this season, with an ankle injury having scuppered a switch to Leeds United before the transfer deadline in August.
However, with Prutton now nearing full fitness, Burley has challenged his player to make his mark.
He told the Daily Echo: "I'm always a manager with eyes open and everybody will have an opportunity. It's up to players.
"You've got to look at each situation and the door's open for everybody. That's the case with David.
"He's very competitive, a 100 per cent player who never shirks a challenge, so there's always room for them in the team.
"I've never had any problems with David since I came to the club."
