Port bucks trend as traffic grows

Portsmouth's port says it is defying the recession by taking more passengers and vehicles over the past few months.Between April and August, including the busy summer holiday season, the port saw a 6% increase in private vehicles and a 4% increase in passenger numbers. Over the same time period, freight traffic showed only a 1% decline.
