Portsmouth have played down reports linking first-team coach Joe Jordan with the vacant managerial hot-seat at near-neighbours Southampton.
The Championship club are on the lookout for a new manager following George Burley's departure to take over as Scotland boss last month.
However, Pompey boss Harry Redknapp - himself a former manager at Southampton - claims he is unaware of any firm interest in Jordan from their fellow south coast club.
Jordan spent three years as a player at Southampton in the mid 1980s.
"I've not spoken to Joe, but I'm not surprised," he said.
"He's done great for me, I love having him here."
