Paul Jones started his career at Kidderminster Harriers in 1986. In 1991 he moved to Wolverhampton Wanderers for a fee of 60,000 pounds. Before he moved to Stockport County in 1996 he made 44 appearances for Wolverhampton. When Dave Jones, Stockport manager moved to Southampton, he took Paul with him and in 1998 he won Southampton player of the season. After leavin Southanpton in 2003 he briefly joined Liverpool before re-joining Wolverhampton in the January of 2004.
