Paterson set for new Saints deal
The 19-year-old Academy product found the net to add to Jason Euell's brace as Saints romped to a 3-0 success at Portman Road to boost their chances of avoiding the drop.
"I am so pleased for Matt," said Saints boss Mark Wotte.
"He was magnificent when he came on as a sub and had only been in the game about two minutes when he scored. It was his 10th game and he celebrated with a goal.
"We also told him this week that we are looking to extend his contract. He has a brilliant attitude and when he starts running and working he is a pretty good finisher."
