Pardew won't give up

Southampton manager Alan Pardew watched his side crash to a 1-0 home defeat to play-off hopefuls Swindon - but refused to rule his side out of the promotion race. Charlie Austin's 15th goal of the season proved the difference and the Saints now find themselves 16 points adrift of the last play-off spot in League One with just 11 games to play. Pardew said: "Mathematically it [play-off qualification] is still possible, so we will absolutely keep taking it game-by-game and see where we stand. "Until we mathematically cannot get there, we will keep striving for that goal. "This has been a tough season for us. We knew it was going to take time to assemble the squad we needed and get ourselves playing the football we want to. "But we are getting there. This was disappointing, but we had a great day on Saturday beating Leeds and there will be plenty more days like that for this club in the future."
