Pardew will be patient with new duo

Former Birmingham defender Jaidi and Senegalese striker N'Daiye, who is on loan from Fiorentina, made their debuts as late substitutes during Saturday's 1-1 draw at Charlton. But Pardew will now play the pair in the reserves this week as they attempt to get their fitness up to speed. "Rahdi hadn't played a game yet but I felt his experience in those last 10 to 15 minutes would help us and I think we did settle down a little bit," said Pardew. "He will get a full run-out in the reserves during the week against Swindon. "Papa also needs a match, it's as simple as that. He showed when he came on that he's got talent but he's got to be fit. I made that mistake with Carlos Tevez at West Ham so I'm not going to do that again."
