Pardew not ruling out further additions

Southampton boss Alan Pardew is happy with his business in the transfer market this summer but has refused to rule out adding some more new faces to his squad. Ryan Dickson, Danny Butterfield and Frazer Richardson have arrived at St Mary's but the latter is set for three months on the sidelines after dislocating his shoulder earlier this month. Anthony Pulis suffered a similar problem in the 1-0 friendly win over Farnborough on Wednesday, leaving Pardew to re-asses his options. "I think it's been a good summer in terms of keeping the players that were important to us last year and we've brought in two or three because I don't think we need to bring in many," he told the club's official website. "We do need a couple more, obviously we have lost Frazer (Richardson), which was a massive blow and we almost lost Ant (Pulis) but his shoulder went back in - but two dislocations in pre-season isn't good." Pardew added: "I'm a little bit concerned about my wide areas, there's not really a lot of competition for the starters. I still think we need another option (in attack). What that option will be will depend on the market and what becomes available."
