Pardew glee at goal glut

Southampton boss Alan Pardew was ecstatic as his side racked up 10 goals in four days with a resounding 5-0 thrashing of promotion rivals Huddersfield. Rickie Lambert, Lee Barnard, Jason Puncheon, Dean Hammond and Papa Waigo fired Saints to their second five-goal haul of the week and continue their unbeaten league start to 2010. Huddersfield in losing their first League One match since December were second-best throughout and could not live with the home side's thrilling attacking football. Pardew said: "It was an outstanding team display and there was some great football played. We were hurt by the defeat at Huddersfield earlier in the season so there was a bit of that in there as well. "They are a very lively side but we got them on the back foot quickly and had so much quality going forward. "From now on it is about keeping players focused and fit because that was a new level from what we have played this season. There is still a long way to go. We are trying to catch teams who are winning and we are going to need a lot of luck but if we keep playing like that not many teams will be able to live with us."
