Pardew facing striking conundrum

17 August 2009 14:57
Recent recruit Rickie Lambert grabbed his third goal of the season during Saturday's 3-1 defeat at Huddersfield and will keep his place up front. But Pardew must choose between Grzegorz Rasiak, who started at the weekend, Marek Saganowski and Matthew Paterson to partner the £1million hotshot. Pardew has no fresh injury worries from the weekend, with midfielder Joseph Mills (hamstring) and winger Kayne McLaggon (Achilles) still the only absentees. Loan signing Jacob Mellis arrived from Chelsea prior to the Huddersfield trip, and after making his Saints debut as a second-half substitute could be involved from the start at the County Ground.
