Saints kicked off the season on minus 10 points but punished an error-prone Oldham performance at Boundary Park with goals from Dean Hammond, Rickie Lambert and David Connolly. "Starting with minus 10 was a big psychological barrier but since we broke through zero, we've won three out of three," said Pardew. "The next target is to move out of the relegation zone and I'm not looking any further than that because we are still making errors as a team. "They are mistakes I would not want to see from a side chasing promotion so there is work to do, but I'm pleased at the moment." He continued: "Oldham are one of the better teams we have played in terms of organisation and work-rate. They put us under pressure and it was frustrating that we let them back into it at 2-1 but this is a good result."
