Lallana keen to move on

Southampton star Adam Lallana is hoping his team-mates can pick themselves up and move on from Saturday's FA Cup fifth round defeat to fierce rivals Portsmouth.

The Saints lost 4-1 to their south coast neighbours despite striker Rickie Lambert equalising Quincy Owusu-Abeyie's opener.

Aruna Dindane, Nadir Belhadj and Jamie O'Hara secured a flattering win for the Premier League strugglers and although the loss hurt Lallana, he wants to forget about it.

With the Saints' promotion push fizzling out this season, Lallana still wants to get back to winning ways following their exit from this season's competition.

Speaking to reporters, he said: "If you don't take your chances you can leave yourself vulnerable at the back when you're chasing the game and that's what happened.

"We're gutted and I'm sure the fans are.

"But we gave it our all, matched them and were the better team for the majority of the game, but it just doesn't work out sometimes."
