Lallana joy at late goal

Southampton midfielder Adam Lallana has revealed his delight at scoring an injury-time goal to help his team squeeze past Shrewsbury and into the FA Cup second round. The 22-year-old struck in the 93rd minute to make it 2-0 following substitute David Connolly's 91st strike put the Saints in front at St Mary's. He told Saints Player: "It was one of those where you don't really get much time to think, but I think sometimes it's better when that happens, because you don't have time to dwell on it and luckily it went in. "A couple of weeks ago I scored in the 94th minute, so always better late than never eh? "It just shows that you've got to persevere for the ninety minutes, and we got two goals in the final two or three minutes. "It shows we're fit, we're strong and that we can mentally persevere for ninety-five minutes which is what you've got to do as a team."
