Southampton winger Lee Holmes hopes to have recovered from a knee ligament injury in time to play in next month's FA Cup third round clash with Manchester United.
The 21-year-old, who moved to St Mary's from Derby County in the summer, has been sidelined since suffering the injury in the 4-1 defeat at QPR in mid-September.
"It's been going well and hopefully I'll be back fairly soon and giving the manager something to think about when it comes to picking the team," said Holmes.
"I'd love to play against United. I watched the draw and I was buzzing when the balls came out of the hat.
"All the lads feel the same way, it's what you want as a footballer - to be playing against the best."
