Holmes hoping to convince Wotte

Holmes, who has spent two months on the sidelines with a knee injury, came through half an hour of reserves action against Reading on Wednesday and hopes to start for the second string against Gillingham on Monday night.[LNB]Wotte has already insisted he needs to get a full game under his belt before he will be considered for a full return but Holmes is raring to go.[LNB]"The Reading game was a good hurdle crossed and I'm quite pleased. It was another challenge and I'm pleased to have got through the game without any problems," he told the Southampton Echo.[LNB]"We'll see what the manager wants to do and it will be his decision if he thinks I'm fit enough and ready."[LNB][LNB][LNB]
