Euell earns Wotte's praise

Southampton boss Mark Wotte picked out Jason Euell for special praise as his side improved their chances of dropping into League One with an impressive victory at Ipswich Town.

The 32-year-old former Wimbledon and Charlton Athletic forward scored a brace as the Saints won their sixth away game of the campaign.

A delighted Wotte said after the game: "Jason Euell has done fantastically for us. I am pleased with him.

"When I started this job, I gave him three times a substitute role, and every time he had a good impact - so I put him in the first eleven.

"His contract is expiring, so he has personal reasons to play well. He feels confident, like most of the players, and he has done brilliantly."
