Cup dream over
Saints' go down at home to Pompey. Portsmouth ran out 4 - 1 winners at St Marys today but for a long time the result was in the balance. Portsmouth went ahead in the 66th minute with a goal from Quincy, but goal machine Ricky Lambert levelled 4 mins later. Saints' dreams were shattered though in the last 15 mins. Goals from Dindane (75), Belhadj (82) and O'Hara (85) saw the visitors home and maybe the prize money will help them stay in business. Southampton can now prepare for next weeks game at Carrow Rd against Norwich and lok back with pride on a fne cup run.
