Burley hails strike duo
02 Nov 2006 - 08:43:15
Southampton boss George Burley hailed his makeshift strikeforce of Bradley Wright-Phillips and Kenwyne Jones after they both found the net during Saints' 2-0 victory over Wolves.
Burley was denied the services of injured duo Grzegorz Rasiak and David McGoldrick, but a goal in either half at St Mary's ended the home side's run of two straight defeats.
"Kenwyne and Bradley played the last half hour together at Colchester and did very well so I had every confidence in them," Burley told the club's official website.
"They have both got pace and an eye for goal and linked up very well - and I was delighted to see them both get on the scoresheet.
"Bradley is a young striker with great potential and while Kenwyne might not be the crowd's favourite, he is another young boy who is new to England.
"He has only been here a couple of seasons but he is growing in confidence."
