Adkins hails Saints focus

Southampton manager Nigel Adkins praised his side after they recorded a comfortable 2-0 home victory over Tranmere. Rickie Lambert scored his fifth goal of the season and Adam Lallana added a second as Rovers wilted after a promising start. It was Saints' fifth match without defeat, and Adkins said: "The good thing is we kept our concentration levels and passed the ball about and we should have scored more. "That is five matches unbeaten now and the wheels are in motion again. There is a belief and momentum about our game. This is the sort of game in which we could have dropped points but we kept at it and deserved to win. "Rickie Lambert could have had a hat-trick. Apart from his goal he hit the bar and brought a good save out of the goalkeeper and I hope he goes on the sort of run we know he is capable of."
