Adkins champing at bit
Southampton manager Nigel Adkins has his sights firmly set on getting back into action against Brentford on Saturday.
The wintry weather put paid to Saints' trip to Hartlepool last weekend, but also gave players carrying knocks a chance to build up their fitness.
"We'll take the rearranged games as they come," said Adkins.
"We've got a squad here that wants to do well and there is competition for places where whoever comes in is not going to let us down.
"But as ever we'll be keeping our cards close to our chest about the players involved against Brentford."
