Actor backs hospital heart appeal

Actor Brian Blessed will launch a £1.5m appeal to turn Frimley Park Hospital in Surrey into a regional centre for the treatment of heart attack victims.The NHS trust wants to run a 24-hour angioplasty service covering Surrey, north Hampshire and east Berkshire, and needs a second lab. Primary angioplasty is a procedure that reopens blocked arteries, resulting in instant relief for a patient. The trust has committed £3.5m to build the lab and needs £1.5m to equip it.
