Dikgacoi dismisses weight concerns

South Africa midfielder Kagisho Dikgacoi insists he has no fitness fears heading into the World Cup amid concerns he gained some weight during his time in England.

The 25-year-old hardly featured for Fulham this season and - like compatriot Benni McCarthy - there were concerns the pair were not up to full fitness heading into next month's finals.

But Dikgacoi said: "That (weight) has been my concern but I worked hard at Fulham. After training I'd go with the physical trainer for some more work because I wanted to be in the team at the World Cup, and to make sure I'm sharp."

He added: "It is very good to be back. I have played with these guys for some time now and although I could not join them in their recent camps in Brazil and Germany, I feel I can comfortably slip back into the team.

"I think the qualities that got me selected in the first place are still of use to the coach."

The former Golden Arrows star made just seven starts for the Craven Cottage club in the Premier League, while he was also bit-part player during the team's Europa League run that took them all the way to the final.
