Siena have parted company with coach Mario Beretta, despite the Serie A club having recently secured their top-flight survival.
The Tuscans finished 13th in the table after an upturn in form under Beretta, who joined the club in November to replace Andrea Mandorlini.
Beretta said after learning of his exit: "I thank all the fans who have supported me as it gives me great pleasure to know that I have left a good memory.
"This is not my choice, but one made by the club and they are free to make the decisions they want to.
"For the time being I have no offers, but sooner or later something will arrive."
Beretta had previously been replaced by Mandorlini after ensuring the club escaped the drop in the 2006-07 campaign.
The 48-year-old has also enjoying spells in charge of Como, Ternana, Chievo and Parma.
