Ronaldo set to snub Siena

Brazil striker Ronaldo has thanked Siena for their interest but has dropped a strong hint that he will not look to resurrect his career with the Tuscan club.

The 32-year-old former AC Milan and Real Madrid striker is on the comeback trail from career-threatening knee ligament damage and is reported to be close to full-fitness.

Ronaldo is without a club following his release by Milan at the end of the last season and has been linked with a host of sides across Europe, including Manchester City and Paris St Germain.

Siena have already gone public with their interest in signing the former world footballer of the year, but Ronaldo has cooled talk that he could resurrect his career at the Stadio Artemio Franchi.

"I have heard about their interest and I sincerely thank them but I do not feel like making any promises to any club right now," he told La Gazzetta dello Sport.

"I will do it as soon as I am back to 100 per cent and it is very difficult for me to set a precise date at the moment."
