Siena have confirmed that Marco Giampaolo will be their coach next season, following the recent departure of Mario Beretta from the club.
Forty-year-old Giampaolo has previous coaching experience from two spells with Cagliari, while he learned his trade as assistant at Pescara, Treviso and Ascoli.
A statement of Siena's official club website: "While wishing a warm welcome to Marco Giampaolo, AC Siena would also like to express our sincere gratification and wish a fond farewell to Mario Beretta and his staff.
"We acknowledge the important contribution they made to keeping AC Siena in Serie A during the last two seasons.
"Also for creating a series of records in this past season, which will never be erased from the glorious history of this club."
