Former Siena coach Mario Beretta has been handed the reins at Serie A newcomers Lecce.
Beretta, 48, left Siena despite keeping them in the top-flight last season against the odds, but has now been confirmed as Giuseppe Papadopulo's replacement at the Stadio Via del Mare.
Papadopulo left Lecce last month after failing to agree a new contract.
"I have to thank the club for showing trust in me," said Beretta.
"This is a very important footballing city with a great tradition and I am very grateful at being called to take charge of this team.
"My work is to make a contribution to the project and to bring passion and enthusiasm.
"The aim for the season is to achieve comfortable safety, hopefully with a few weeks to go."
