Shrewsbury Town have confirmed that Steven Leslie has signed a new one-year extension keeping him at the New Meadow until the end of the 2008/09 season.
He came through the club's youth system and signed his first professional contract.
Leslie has made 11 appearances so far this season despite not holding down a first-team place.
Manager Gary Peters said: "We feel Steve has still got a lot of potential and at times shows unbelievable ability.
"He's just got to learn to show that in the first team and, the more chances he gets, the more he will get used to it and the more he gets used to it the more he will thrive.
"He's shown in spells what he can do in the first team but now we've got to get him doing it more consistently."
