Turner salutes `great win`
Published : 05 Feb 2011 19:30:05

Graham Turner cut a naturally delighted figure having seen his Shrewsbury side register back-to-back wins for the first time since early November.Young winger Jon Taylor made it three goals in two games with the opener in a 2-0 victory over Southend at Roots Hall before Matt Harrold struck on the hour mark to down his former employers. The result sends resurgent Shrews up to fourth in League Two - just two points off the automatic promotion places - having won just two of their previous 12."It was a great win as we have had to deal with difficult conditions with the wind and a hard pitch, so it was a good day`s work," said Turner, ahead of Tuesday`s trip to Lincoln."Matt Harrold's goal was a cracking finish, as was Jon Taylor's. Our midfield was strong and defensively we were solid up until the last 10 minutes. But it was a character performance and we had a determination about us."With the additions we have made to the squad we have strength in depth and it does look a strong squad, but we are going to need that for the rest of the season."
