Turner pleased with response
Graham Turner admitted Shrewsbury`s victory over Northampton was a big three points as his side bounced straight back from their first defeat of the season at Gillingham seven days earlier. It was only going to be a matter of time before Town suffered the first blow to their promotion bid, but it is always about how a team responds to defeat that proves so crucial. And after the club`s 2-0 reverse at Priestfield, Shrews showed their true credentials as two goals from Jake Robinson and another from Matt Harrold claimed a 3-1 triumph over the Cobblers.Turner said: "To bounce back with a victory was important and the manner in which we played was important. For periods of the game I thought we passed it extremely well, used all our pace and mobility."But after we'd gone 3-1 up we just conceded a little bit too much ground for comfort. Having said that, Northampton started to take a chance and it`s at that time that you really have to punish them and we had opportunities with breaks that we didn`t make the most of. But that`s being a bit churlish."He added: "The two goals just after half-time were important to us, and with Jake Robinson missing a good chance we could easily have gone 4-1 up."
