Turner honest in defeat and looks forward

Graham Turner admitted his Shrewsbury side were not allowed to play their natural game as they lost their unbeaten league record at Gillingham but called on his players to bounce back strongly.Chris Palmer struck twice either side of the break, while Adebayo Akinfenwa also missed a penalty, as the Gills secured a 2-0 triumph to record their first victory of the season."We knew it was going to be difficult coming here and that proved the case," said Turner. "I think we were bullied a little bit. We were outworked all over the pitch."If you are under pressure you need to try and stay in the game and we conceded in the first 20 minutes. They pressed us and they bullied us and we could not get our passing game going."It is our first defeat and now it is all about how we react to that. We have to make sure we put it right."But we set ourselves a target for the first six games and we have surpassed that."
