Town take on Wainwright

Shrewsbury Town have signed Darlington midfielder Neil Wainwright on an initial month's loan.

The 29-year-old has made just two starts for the Quakers this season and could stay with the Shrews for a longer spell if he impresses.

Town boss Gary Peters told the club's official website: "Neil Wainwright has come in on loan from Darlington and he was their player of the year last season.

"He's an attacking right winger who runs at people, attacks them and gets crosses in, but he does work hard.

"Whenever we've played against Darlington he's a player who always puts fear into us, he's someone you don't want to be in the opposition side.

"He's on a month's loan to start with and we'll see how it goes. I've seen a lot of him over the years and have always been impressed."
