Symes seals Shrews switch

Shrewsbury Town have completed the permanent signing of Bradford City striker Michael Symes who has spent the first month of the season on loan at Gay Meadow.

The 22-year-old scored in the 5-0 demolition of Boston United after coming on as a substitute and has made two more appearances for the Shrews so far this term.

Symes was a trainee at Everton but left the Premiership club after failing to make a first-team appearance.

He started only six League One matches for Bradford City in his two seasons at Valley Parade and had a brief loan spell at Stockport County last term.
