Simpson happy with Shrews

Manager Paul Simpson was pleased with the solidity of his Shrewsbury Town side after they made it three wins out of three with a hard-fought 1-0 victory over Aldershot Town.

A Grant Holt goal 11 minutes from time proved decisive, with the Shrews yet to concede a goal in League Two this term.

Simpson told the club's official website: "I think it was a game where our defending helped us to get our rewards.

"I said before the game that Aldershot would give us our toughest game of the season so far and I think they definitely did.

"I'm delighted with the three points as it's not always going to be pretty, but we had to dig in and work hard to get the result.

"We have to be prepared to roll our sleeves and today was about that and if we can get another 21 games at home where we roll our sleeves up and win, then I think everyone will be satisfied."
