Simpson cools Town hopes

Shrewsbury Town boss Paul Simpson has played down talk of his side being one of the favourites for the League Two title this season.

Simpson has brought in a number of new players this summer, with the likes of Grant Holt and Richard Walker expected to help Town challenge for automatic promotion.

"It doesn't really bother me, it's not something I take notice of," Simpson told the Shropshire Star.

"We know it's going to be a long season and everyone's opinions will change from one week to the next.

"Everyone's positive now, but we know that can change very quickly if we have a couple of bad games.

"We've just got to keep our heads together over the long 46-game campaign and hope that in the end we can prove them (the bookies) right."
