Simpson buoyed by reserves display
Jake Robinson netted a brace while Andre Gray grabbed the other to put Shrews out of sight with just 32 minutes on the clock at The Hawthorns on Monday night. Andres Arestidou, Kevin McIntyre, Harry Hooman, Kris Bright and Lewis Neal also featured, among others, and Simpson was left impressed by what he saw. "It was a very good performance from our young side against a good Albion team," he told Town's official website. "I was delighted with the way we went about the game and for Jake Robinson to get two goals and to keep a clean sheet. "Anyone who is pushing for a place in the first team will have done themselves no harm." Shrews were given a scare, however, when Bright rolled his ankle in the first half but he was taken off at the interval purely as a precautionary measure.
