Simpson begins Shrews cull

Shrewsbury Town boss Paul Simpson has begun his clearout at the club after releasing five soon to be out of contract players.

Luke Jones, Colin Murdock, Jimmy Ryan, Martin Riley and Michael Barnes will all leave the New Meadow at the end of the campaign.

Centre of excellent graduate goalkeeper Jasbir Singh has been handed a 12-month deal, but fellow teenager Tom Moss has been released.

Meanwhile, Simpson has revealed he is in talks about making midfielder Asa Hall's loan stay from Birmingham City into a permanent transfer.
