Shrews to let Constable leave

Shrewsbury Town boss Paul Simpson is willing to let James Constable join Blue Square Premier League side Oxford United on a season-long loan move. The 23-year-old joined the Shrews from Kidderminster in January, scoring four times in 14 appearances for the club, but his first-team opportunities at the New Meadow are likely to be limited now that Simpson has brought Grant Holt and Richard Walker to the club. "With the strikers we've brought in over the last few weeks I felt there was an opportunity for some of the lads to go out," Simpson told Town's official website. "I got an enquiry from Oxford United for them to take James Constable out on loan and I think it will benefit him and benefit us in the long term."
