Shrews snap up Thomas

Shrewsbury Town manager Gary Peters has snapped up the former Bournemouth and Boston United defender Danny Thomas on non-contract terms.

The 25-year-old came through the youth team ranks at Leicester City before moving to Bournemouth. He made his debut for the Cherries in February 2002 and went on to make 74 appearances for the club.

Thomas was signed by Boston United in March 2004 and played 94 games for the Pilgrims.

Boston boss Steve Evans released Thomas at the end of last season.
