Shrews seal Cureton swoop

Shrewsbury Town have signed Norwich City's veteran striker Jamie Cureton on loan until the end of the season.

The 35-year-old had dropped down the pecking order at Carrow Road, with his current contract set to expire in the summer.

Cureton has scored more than 200 senior goals during his career, enjoying success with the likes of Bristol Rovers, Reading and Colchester United.

Town boss Paul Simpson told the club's official website: "I'm delighted that Jamie has agreed to join us on loan until the end of the season.

"He has a goalscoring record is as good as anyone playing in English football today. Hopefully he will add something a little different to our squad during this important run-in to the end of the season."
