Shrews face Davies absence

Shrewsbury Town will be without their captain Ben Davies for this weekend's derby clash with high-flying Hereford United.

The former Chester City midfielder picked up a hamstring injury in the 3-3 draw with Milton Keynes and is unlikely to be ready to return to action until next weekend's encounter with Barnet.

"I've got a tear in the left hamstring but it's not too bad now," Davies told the Shropshire Star.

"It's just sore at the moment but it's a lot better than it was.

"But I don't want to come back too soon with a hamstring problem so I think Hereford might be a bit soon. I think I'm looking at being back in contention for the Barnet game."
