Shrews extend White loan

Shrewsbury Town have extended striker Jamie White's loan stay for a further month.

The 19-year-old Southampton frontman has netted one goal in five appearances for the League Two club during his first four weeks at the New Meadow.

"Jamie has done well and I'm hoping over the next month that we will see even more from him," manager Paul Simpson told the club's official website.

"He's looked a real threat for us when he's played up front and he can also play out wide which gives us a different option.

"He wants to learn and improve and is well thought of at Southampton and if he carries on like this then I'm sure they will want him back to go into their first team."
