Shrews cut three loose

Shrewsbury Town have handed free transfers to three players after cancelling the contracts of a trio of first-team members. Neil Sorvel, Marco Adaggio and Gavin Cadwallader have all been told they are surplus to requirements at Gay Meadow. Sorvel made over 60 appearances for the Shrews since arriving two years ago. "Sorvs has gone and we wish him well," Shrewsbury boss Gary Peters told the club's official website. "He has got to think about his future. He's been cover for the last few months and hasn't been in the starting line-up." Meanwhile, Adaggio and Cadwallader have been released after failing to make the grade at first-team level. "Marco and Gavin have got a chance and, between now and the end of the season, they can get fixed up with a club, start doing well and that gives them every chance to get a contract for next season," added Peters.
