Shrews boss slams Symes

Shrewsbury Town manager Gary Peters has criticised striker Michael Symes for earning a three-game ban by being sent off in the 1-1 draw at Mansfield Town. Symes was ordered off shortly before half-time following a clash with Stags defender Alex John-Baptiste and will sit out three games as a result. Peters told the club's official website: "It was just stupidity, if you've got the hump with someone and you retaliate then at least make it worthwhile. "It was handbags and he's got sent off for hardly touching the boy with a slight push. The ref had no other option though, but it is ridiculous to get sent off for that. "A straight red means three games suspended and that will cost Michael. "It'll cost him in his pocket, but more importantly it will cost him in his time."
