Shrews axe for Edwards

Shrewsbury Town boss Gary Peters has left contract rebel Dave Edwards out of his squad for Saturday's League Two play-off final.

The 21-year-old midfielder is out of contract in the summer and, after rejecting terms on a new two-year deal, has been told he won't play against Bristol Rovers at Wembley.

"I need to choose people who will be playing for a future at this club in a higher league," said Peters.

"I have made a tough decision because in the run up to a game like this, focus is everything."

Edwards is expected to link up with Peterborough United this summer.
